Here in our Ninjutsu we strive to teach our students a more modern and evolved interpretation of the Koga Ryu Ninjutsu of the 甲賀流和田派Koga Ryu Wada-Ha system that has been passed on to our Grandmaster, Dan C Harmon. Since the Taijutsu or hand-to-hand combat form of the traditional Wada-Ha system has stagnated to the point of being overly stylized and robotic, our master has revamped it to fit the new age times we live in. All of the stylized yet effective moves have been modified to be fluid, fast, and sharp, while all the overly stylized movements that have been rendered ineffective have been removed. Here we teach a New Age style of Ninjutsu, combining old and modern philosophies and war strategy with modern and ancient weapons, skills, tactics, a multitude of sciences that would seem college level to society standards, and actual fun to be had as we train.
Through his studies of various styles and many battle experiences in his youth, he has adapted the Ninjutsu to serve modern times. While recent martial arts schools emphasize focus on lineage and densho, here we focus on skill, common sense, patience, and martial competence.
A fun and modern way to learn Ninjutsu. If that's what you seek, then Dan can and will provide within his power what you wish to learn in order to live free and happy.
ABOUT
About Dan Harmon
Dan is a modern day practitioner of the 甲賀流忍術『和田派』Koga Ryu Ninjutsu's Wada-Ha System. However, he uses a modern interpretation of the Ninjutsu that has been taught to him by Grandmaster Hanzawa Kogimo. Innovating the style to suit modern day standards, after seeing that some of the traditional ways have all but stagnated, Dan modified the techniques for fluidity, speed, and sharpness. This was attributed from his time serving with the Guardian Angels during the chaos of the L.A. Riots; a hellish warzone on the streets of Los Angeles, where gang violence and murder spiraled out of control, to the point where the government officially declared it a war zone. Dan's skills were sharpened further in his participation as rescue during the San Francisco Earthquake.
During his Training period as a child he has participated in many point matches, and he and his partner were the first to invent a form of Nunchaku practice combining Nunchaku and juggling, and so he created the Nunchaku Pass. Bored with sports tournaments he participated in then-underground full contact matches in many different venues, including but not limited to a person's backyard.
A proud member of the Koga Ryu Ninjutsu families that live around the world, he is occasionally bashed by those unaware that the Koga Ryu schools remain active today, even though the Soke (宗家 Family Head) of the Wada-Ha system, Fujita Seiko, died without an apparent heir to the original system.
Combining Modern Day approaches to the ancient teachings of Shinobi (忍 Patience/Stealth/Ninja), and using various skills of martial arts to adapt and innovate the Ninjutsu he has been taught, he teaches a new-age approach to the classic Ninjutsu, so that the students of the art can learn quicker, and act more efficiently in a time of need.
Grandmaster Dan C Harmon teaches that instead of thinking of oneself as a Ninja, live with the grace and dignity befitting a Ninja, a philosophy inherent in his pupils across the globe.
